Holloway Installed As Incoming President Of Tennessee Judicial Conference

Members of the Tennessee Judiciary came together for a week of meetings and educational opportunities. Judge Robert L. Holloway, Jr. from Columbia, Tenn. was installed as the incoming president of the Tennessee Judicial Conference and new Executive Committee members were also chosen for 2012-2013.

“I’m excited about this opportunity,” said Judge Holloway.

“I look forward to working with members of the conference, Governor Haslam and legislators to make this a productive and successful year.”

Holloway succeeds Judge James C. Beasley from Memphis, Tenn. “Judge Beasley did a tremendous job and it will be hard to fill those shoes,” said Judge Holloway. 

The Tennessee Judicial Conference (TJC) is an organization comprised of members of the Tennessee Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and Court of Criminal Appeals as well as trial court judges across state. The mission of the TJC is to enhance the professional and personal development of all Tennessee judges, encourage proactive efforts to preserve and improve our system of justice, implement effective alternative dispute resolution methods and develop visionary judicial leadership in order to provide the highest quality of services from the state judiciary. 

Executive Committee members include judges across the state, Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice, Administrative Office of the Courts Director, State Attorney General, Tennessee Bar Association President, Tennessee Association for Justice President, Tennessee Lawyers Association for Women President, Tennessee Trial Judges Association President and a member from the Retired Judges Committee.

Senator Alexander Speaks At Better Business Bureau Luncheon Tuesday

Dog Fighting Operation Uncovered On Talladega Avenue

TBI was executing a narcotics search warrant at 6302 Talladega Ave. in Chattanooga on Friday and uncovered a dog fighting operation. City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
