The city of Chattanooga is expected to once again intervene in a rate increase sought by the Tennessee-American Water Company.
The city did so in the last rate increase battle, including hiring outside attorneys and experts.
This time Tennessee-American is seeking a 23 percent rate increase, which is the highest request it has ever filed.
The City Council on Tuesday, June 26, is due to consider this resolution:
"A resolution authorizing intervention in the pending rate increase filed by Tennessee-American Water Company before the Tennessee Regulatory Authority and to incur reasonable and necessary expenses.
