Lee Mitchell, 80, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on June 15, 2012 at his residence.  

He was born in Corbin, Ky., to the late William and Maggie Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell was a veteran having served in  the United States Army.  Mr. Mitchell was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 43.  He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jean Mitchell; daughter, Diane Burson; two sons, Michael Mitchell  and Robert Gilbert; three brothers, Paul Mitchell, Bill Mitchell and Joe Mitchell.; three sisters, Rhonda Jones, Margie Mitchell and Lena Rickett.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Judy Mitchell; two daughters, Debbie Gilbert of Chattanooga, Vikki Brock of Cumming, Ga.; two sons,  Donnie (Gerri)  Gilbert of Chattanooga and Tim Mitchell of Chattanooga; brother, Ted Mitchell of Lenoir City, Tn.; two sisters, Mary Lou Dunn and Phyllis Jackson; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 19, at 11 a.m. at the East Chapel with Reverend Harold Taylor and Reverend Randy Harden officiating.   

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 18, from 4-8 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.  

Interment will be in Anderson Memorial Gardens, 640 Oliver Springs Highway,  Oliver Springs, Tn.

Memorial contributions may be made to Canaan Baptist Church, 4318 13th Avenue, Chattanooga, Tn. 37404.
