Florence Bray, 83, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, June 16, 2012.  

She was born in Etowah County, Ala., daughter of Paul and Nellie Hubbard Nelson. She was retired from Days Inn in the Accounting Department.

Florence was a member of Northside Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bray.

Survivors are her daughter, Joyce Wood; grandchildren, Debbie (Steve) Anderson, Michelle (Richard) Tennyson, Greg Wood and Michael (Cassie) Wood;  great grandchildren, Carrington Bates, Colby Wood, Jerryd and Emma Tennyson; brothers, Gordon Nelson,  Ray Nelson  and Robert Nelson;  sisters, Linda Shepperd and Edna Patterson.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, June 18, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, at the North Chapel with the Reverend Chuck Bray officiating. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank Avalon Hospice and Consulate Health Care for their compassionate care of Florence.

A Chattanooga man was stabbed to death after an argument on Friday night.
