Jesse Charles “Jake” Ware, 83, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, June 13, 2012.
He was born in Dalton, Ga., on Sept. 16, 1928, to the late Henry Ware, Sr. and Frances Lusk.
Jesse spent most of his working career with Wheland Foundry and the Chattanooga Housing Authority before retiring about 10 years ago. Jesse loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed taking his sons, daughters and grandchildren on fishing trips.
Jesse accepted Christ as his personal savior many years ago and had been a faithful member of Mt. Ollie Primitive Baptist Church for over 10 years. He served as an usher as well as did work on the church when needed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude V. Ware; father, Henry Ware, Sr.; mother, Frances Lusk; sister, Georgia; brothers, Willie Charles Ware and Henry Ware, Jr.
He is survived by his daughters, Angela B. (Charles) Young and Jacqueline Y. (Aubrey) Brooks; sons, Jesse J. Ware and George V. Ware; brother, Albert Ware; sister, Anita (Hasselle) Ware; 12 grandchildren, Reneaca Abernathy, Jessica Ware, Alicia Norris, Latasha Ware, Charles Chavis, Jr., Carlos Young, Hosea Pierce, III, Antwan Evans, Vince Ware, Michael Sanderfer, Tidaro Sanderfer and Garry Rollins; a host of nephews; great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Family visitation will be on Sunday, June 17, from 6-7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Monday, June 18, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Ollie Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Owen Smith as the eulogist. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
