Margaret Louise Black Spencer, 87, of Chattanooga died on Friday, June 15, 2012.  

She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Rocky Face, Ga. She reared her family in the Crown Mill Village and attended Crown View Baptist Church and later Emmanuel Baptist Church, Dalton.  She was a dedicated worker in her employment through the years at One Hour Martinizing, Pic ‘N Pay Shoes and Westside Elementary Cafeteria.  

She was predeceased by her parents, Lester Harmon and Vercie Bearden Black, husbands, Roy Edward Kendrick and John Henry Smith and a great-grandson, Sam Sucher. Mrs. Spencer was a loving wife, mother, nanny and grana.

Survivors include her husband, Donald E. Spencer, daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Gregg Amos, Tunnel Hill; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Judy Kendrick, McDonald, Bruce and Cathie Kendrick, Lexington, Ky., and Rodney and Melica Kendrick, Dalton; sister, Betty Cross, Cumming, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, David and Doris Black, Sr., Chamblee, Ga.; nine grandchildren, Tanja Pullen (John) Sucher, Jason Kendrick, Johnny Kendrick, Tara Johnson, Josh (Tiffany) Amos, Lacey Kendrick (Kevin) Hammontree, Casey (Nikki) Kendrick, Whit Kendrick and Sarah Kendrick; eight great-grandchildren, Chandler Tate, Jacob Tate, Emma Grace Sucher, Max Sucher, Alex Kendrick, Logan Johnson, Chloe Johnson, Holly Johnson and Riley Mae Amos and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be in First Baptist Church of Dalton Atrium on Monday, June 18, from 12:30-3 p.m. The Reverend Phillip Cannon will conduct the service at 3 p.m. in the church chapel. Interment will be in Dunegan Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
