Reverend Willie James Moses died in a local hospital on Monday, June 11, at the age of 67. 

Rev. Moses pastored for over 50 years with the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He also served in the city school system for many years. Rev. Moses was a graduate of Howard High School, class of 1963.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Moses, mother, Margaret Wilson, sister, Rose Marie Wilson, brothers, Tim Moses and Bean Wilson. 

Rev. Moses is survived by his children: Angela McGee, Michael Anthony Moses (South Carolina), Shelia Wofford, Andrea Jackson and Tony Lowery; his grandchildren, Kim McGee, Russell McGee Jr., Takia Owens, Greg Owens Jr., Solomon Jackson Jr., Sam Alvin “Trey” Wofford III, Michael Moses Jr., Shawn Moses, Russell Kennedy and cousin Sandra Griffin; sons-in-law, Russell McGee and Sam Alvin Wofford Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the Bethel AME Church, 2000 Walker Street, Chattanooga, Tn. 37404, with Reverend A.J. Holman officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.  

The body will lie in state after noon on Tuesday, June 19, and the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., Chattanooga, Tn. 37404.

Theresa H. Fiore, 94, died on Saturday, May 18, 2013. She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., married Saverio A. Fiore and spent 30 years with the U.S. Army.
