Chattanooga Lookouts Take Second Straight From Jackson Generals, 4-2.

First-Half Play Ends Sunday; Lookouts Return Home Thursday

JACKSON, TENN.  - The Lookouts are hoping to end the first-half with momentum. Chattanooga won their second straight game defeating the division-winning Jackson Generals  Saturday night, 4-2. The Lookouts victory over the Generals forces the rubber match on Sunday, with the series tied 2-2.

Chattanooga's Nick Buss started the game with a triple to right field. A sacrifice fly by Blake Smith scored Buss and made the score 1-0. Buss began the sixth inning with a line drive double and later scored on an RBI single from Brahiam Maldonado.

Jackson cut the Lookout lead in half when Denny Almonte came home on a ground ball hit by Kalian Sams.

The scored remained 2-1 until the eighth inning. Chattanooga's Kyle Russell hit a single to left field with the bases loaded. The play extended the Lookout lead to 4-1.

In the bottom of the eighth, Joe Dunigan slammed his 12th home run of the season. The ball hit off of the top edge of the wall in straight-away center and made the score 4-2.

RH Forrest Snow (0-1, 1.59) made his first start in Double-A, pitching 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs, 4 hits, and striking out 4.

Chattanooga's LH Aaron Miller (4-4, 4.12) earned the win after throwing 5.2 innings. Miller allowed 4 hits and one unearned run while striking out a game-high six batters.

The teams will conclude the first half of the season on Sunday.. First pitch set for 3:05 p.m. RHP Brandon Maurer (5-1, 3.42) will start for Jackson against LHP Chris Reed for the Lookouts. 

 Following the Southern League All-Star break, the Lookouts return home on Thursday, June 21, to open second-half play against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.
