George Jennings

George Andrew Jennings, 92, of East Ridge died Saturday June 16, 2012. 

He was born January 8, 1920 in Chattanooga to the late James Ruben and Jessie Laura Jennings.

Mr. Jennings was a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a World War II Army veteran serving in the South Pacific. Mr. Jennings loved fishing and especially going to Florida fishing. He enjoyed cooking and baking bread. His specialty was rolls for Sunday dinners with his family. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Mary Jennings; daughters, Lynette (Ed, deceased) Crowe, Elaine (Edward) Ross and Jane (Larry) Sewell; five grandchildren, Shelley Williams, Jeff Crowe, Scott Ross, Kelley Weathers and Eric Sewell; nine great-grandchildren, Zachary Quintrell, Ian Crowe, Levi Crowe, Parker Jennings Ross, Paxton Ross, Hayden Sewell, Aubrey Sewell, Madelyn Weathers and Abbey Weathers.

The family will receive friends at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, June 18.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday June 19, at 10 a.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Jones Memorial United Methodist Church, 4131 Ringgold Road, East Ridge, Tn. 37412.
