Held 37-Year Career At DuPont Before Retiring

Florence Evelyn Currie Taylor Crisp, of Hixson, died on Saturday, June 16, 2012 in an area health care facility.

Mrs. Crisp retired from DuPont after 32 years of service. She was a member of Hixson Presbyterian Church and formerly a member of Memorial Baptist Church and White Oak Baptist Church.

Evelyn loved arts and crafts. She was a member of several art groups, Regional Art, Civic Art, AVA, Tennessee Art League and Tennessee Water Color Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. and Martha Jane Swafford Currie; brother, Wilburn Duane Currie and nephew, Donnie Currie.

Survivors include her husband, A.L. "Tony" Crisp of Hixson; brother, Leslie (Cheryl) Currie of Chickamauga; sisters, Robbie (Ervin) Rogers of Pisgah, AL; Roberta Darnell of Lookout Mountain; Edna Little and Carolyn Fisher, both of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Valerie (Duane) Currie of Spring City and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Robert Johnson officiating. Entombment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Mike Little, Matthew Little, Michael Little, David Currie, Tim Rogers and Chris Rogers serving as pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, June 18, and from noon until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hixson Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 1005 Gadd Road, Hixson, Tn. 37343, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105.
