Miss Chattanooga 2012 Chandler Lawson was welcomed Sunday morning at the Carl Perkins Civic Center by Miss Tennessee 2011 Erin Hatley during the contestant check-in at the Miss Tennessee Pageant in Jackson.

Miss Lawson, a recent graduate of UT-Chattanooga and incoming first-year student at the University of Tennessee School of Law, is attempting to become the first Miss Chattanooga in 64 years to outright win the Miss Tennessee title.  She was first-runner up last year.

Preliminaries start on Wednesday at 9 p.m. and conclude on Saturday when Miss Hatley crowns her successor.

Twenty-five former Miss Tennessees  including 2009 titleholder Stefanie Wittler and 1982 winner Desiree Daniels will be attending the festivities along with Miss America 2012 Laura Kaeppeler.
