William Frank McClure, 82, of Dalton, Ga., died Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by parents, John H. McClure and Lillian Tibbs McClure; brother, John T. McClure; and sister, Marjorie M. Howard.
Frank graduated from Dalton High School, Class of 1947, and proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He worked and retired from Ed Kirby Chevrolet after 17 ½ years. Frank was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He was a deacon and taught Men’s Bible Class and Fishermen’s Class for many years.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elaine S. McClure; daughter, Candace M. Wagner and son-in-law Jens Wagner of Aidlingen, Germany; one precious grandson who the joy of his life, Breck Wagner of Germany; sister, Mary Jane Chitwood (W. B. “Mooney”); brother-in-law, Harry M. Howard of Dalton; sisters-in-law, Barbara H. McClure of Brandon, MS; Leona Craig of Dawsonville, Ga., Lorena (David) Rabideaux of Atlanta and Mercedes (Claude) Guy of Flowery Branch, Ga.; many special nieces and nephews; and special neighbors, Pat & Herman Caldwell.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20 from Eastside Baptist Church with the Rev. Aaron Jones officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 19 at Love Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church, 912 E. Morris St, Dalton, GA. 30721.
