Longtime Chattanooga Businessman Was World War II Veteran

Lawrence Meade Parry, Jr., 85, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, June 14, 2012 surrounded by his family.

Lawrence was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Mr. Parry was a local businessman for 62 years; He was the first Customshouse Broker in Chattanooga. Mr. Parry was a leader in the saddlery hardware industry starting Partrade, Inc. and selling across the U.S and Canada. He served his country in World War II in the U.S. Navy. He attended Woodland Park Baptist Church

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Meade Parry, Sr. and Gladys Bourne Parry.

Mr. Parry is survived by his wife of 64 years, Tommye A. Parry of Chattanooga; daughters, Katrinka Parry; Suzanne Parry, both of Chattanooga, and Amy (David) Dean of Dunlap; two sons, Lawrence Meade (Ann) Parry III and Robert Thomas (Jolee) Parry, both of Chattanooga; brother, James W. Parry of Knoxville; grandchildren, Margaret Elizabeth Parry, Taylor Ann Parry and Laura Renae Parry.

Graveside services and interment will be held on Thursday, June 21, at 1:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Bishop Richard Looney officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 20, from 3-8 p.m. at the Chattanooga Funeral Home – North Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Brainerd Animal Hospital, 5950 Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421, 892-5141. 

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.

Earl Dewey Quinn, 74, of Apison, Tennessee, died on May 18, 2013 at his residence.  Earl was an employee at Collegedale Caseworks with 34 years of service, a lifelong resident of Apison, and an avid wrestling and Nascar fan. Genella Hunt, 88, of Rossville, died on Friday, May 17, 2013 at a local health care facility.  Survivors include her husband, Donald C. Hunt, Jr.; four children; 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Services will be on June 1. Man Stabbed To Death After Argument

A Chattanooga man was stabbed to death after an argument on Friday night. At approximately 11 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a stabbing at 101 E 20 th St. where they found the victim, Alexis Lewis, 51, lying on the walkway with a fatal stab wound to his chest.
