Charles Anthony “Tony” Slaven, 61, of Lookout Mountain, Georgia, died on Saturday, June 16, 2012. 

He was born in Chickamauga, to the late Charles Edison and Vera Mae Boss Slaven. He graduated from Rossville High School Class of 1969. He was a Vietnam veteran and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1969 from 1976. He was of the Baptist faith. He worked at Wheland Foundry for 28 years as a mechanic. He also worked several years for Synthetic Industries. He enjoyed being an outdoorsman, such as coon and deer hunting, fishing and photography. He was an avid Georgia Bulldawg and Atlanta Braves fan. 

He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Stephen and Deborah Slaven, Alan and Joy Slaven and Clifford L. Slaven, all of Lookout Mountain, several nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 19, from 11 a.m.–9 p.m., and Wednesday after 10 a.m. until the service. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Vernon Jones, Gene Strauss and Larry Gordy officiating. Burial will follow in Payne’s Gap Cemetery, Lookout Mountain, Ga.
