Darlene Shipp, 56, of Ridgeside, died on Sunday, June 17, 2012 where she joined the celebration with the great cloud of witnesses of her everlasting father.

Darlene was the daughter of Alice McLeod and the late Petty Officer 1st Class Robert McLeod, retired, of Deland, Fla. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 33 years, Randy Shipp; son Justin Shipp, his wife Melissa and granddaughter Annie of Chattanooga, her daughter, Jaclyn and husband Nic Flanagan of Knoxville.  She is also survived by her sister, Cheryle Kirby and brother Robert McLeod of Deland, Fla. 

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Ridgeside Walkers and Ridgeside Bridge Club, graduated from Central Florida University and received a master's degree from UT Chattanooga. Darlene was employed by Camping World, formally Shipp’s RV Center.  

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 20, at the Heritage Funeral Home on East Brainerd Road from 5-8 p.m. and on Thursday, June 21, at 2 p.m. in the Connector of First Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary.

A Chattanooga man was stabbed to death after an argument on Friday night.
