Thelma Viola Anderson, 93, of Dayton, Tn., died early Tuesday morning, June 19, 2012 at her home with her son at her side.
She was born January 18, 1919 to the late Jerd and Ruth (Richmond) Sanders Sweeton; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Anderson; son, George Nunley; three sisters and four brothers.
A resident of Dayton since 1992, she previously lived in Spring City. She was a member of the Dayton Church of Christ and was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting and cooking.
Thelma is survived by her son, Nick Nunley of Dayton; brothers, Dan (Beverly) Sweeton of Lebanon and John (Linda) Sweeton of Tullahoma; sister, Dotsie Shrum of Tracy City; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services for Thelma will be Thursday, June 21 noon in the funeral home chapel with Minister Steve Brown officiating. Burial will be in Rhea Memory Gardens followed by a white dove release.
The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton, where they will receive friends Wednesday, June 20 from 5-8 pm.
