Frances Johnson, 87, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at her residence.
She retired from Mt. Vernon Restaurant and was a member of New City Fellowship Church and former member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Zella Yarber; husband, Clifford Johnson; sisters, Zorena Yarber, Pearl Bivins, Lugene Arnold, Cora Suggs, Odena McWilliams and Ermon Goldston; brothers, Henry “Buck” Yarber and James Yarber.
Survivors include sons, Jerome (Frances) Favors, Richard (Pauline) Johnson, Reginald (Belinda) Johnson and Vincent (Angela) Johnson; daughters, Brenda Smith, Wemona Lloyd and Gwen Jackson (Alvin) Wright all of Chattanooga; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; brother, Larry Yarber; sister, Alice Swafford, both of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Ruth Tolbert of Indiana; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 22, from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at noon in the chapel with Pastor Miles Bivins as the eulogist. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
