The Red Bank City Commission on Tuesday night honored local radio legend Earl Freudenberg by designating a street for him.
Freudenberg Lane is dedicated to "Hey Earl" for his 50 years in the local radio scene.
He noted that his great-grandfather Freudenberg settled in the vicinity of the lane named for the family.
Commissioner Ruth Jeno noted that she and her husband honeymooned on Freudenberg Lane.
Among those present was another local radio icon, Luther. He recalled when Red Bank "was a cornfield and a hickory nut tree.
"
Others present included Rep. Richard Floyd, City Judge Russell Bean, former County Commissioner Curtis Adams and former Red Bank Mayor Pat Brown.
Both Earl and Luther are still in local radio.
