Lookout Valley's Tshombe Farmer Signs With Hiwassee College

Parents and coach posed for pictures with Lookout Valley High School senior Tshombe T. Farmer recently as he signed a Letter of Intent to play soccer at Hiwassee College, in Madisonville, Tn. Farmer will trade in his Yellow Jackets uniform for one with the Hiwassee College Tigers and play under the direction of Coach Dustin Debty. 

Coach Debty said,  “I am very excited to be signing Tshombe to play for Hiwassee College.  His skills and athletic abilities will be a huge asset to the team.” 


Farmer is honored to be playing college soccer, especially at Hiwassee College.  In an interview, he said, “I never thought I would ever get to play a college sport so I felt like this is an honor to have this opportunity!”


Farmer's parents are happy their son will be playing for Hiwassee College. His mother, Nakia Farmer Mathis said, “We are very proud of our son.  We feel this will be a great experience for him.”


Hiwassee College will be holding open soccer tryouts this Saturday, at 12:00 p.m.  For additional information, interested parties may contact Dustin Debty at 519-7179 or email him at soccer@hiwassee.edu.

Hiwassee College is a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA), and plays in the Mid-East Region.  Founded in 1849 and associated with the United Methodist Church, Hiwassee College is a liberal arts, residential institution of higher education, providing quality education for all students in an atmosphere that promotes intellectual pursuit, spiritual growth, and social and personal responsibility.
