Southern League Opens Second Half Season Following All-Star Break

Wednesday, June 20, 2012

The second half of the Southern League season begins Thursday, and the Lookouts will kick off the half with a five-game homestand against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (Reds). Here are a few of the planned promotions.

Thursday, June 21st (7:15): Ooltewah and Collegedale Night! There will be numerous businesses and organizations from the two areas present during the evening. Additionally, fans will have a chance to win several valuable prizes throughout the evening.  Also, Collegedale Mayor John Turner will be throwing out a ceremonial first pitch.

Friday, June 22nd (7:15): For the second year in a row, an American Idol star will be making a visit to AT&T Field. In conjunction with US-101, Scotty McCreery, who won the tenth season of American Idol, will be in attendance and throwing out the first pitch.

Also, the evening will feature post-game fireworks, and the first 1,000 fans will receive a 2012 Lookouts baseball card set, courtesy of Hardee's.

Saturday, June 23rd (7:15): BirdZerk returns to AT&T Field! Birdzerk is an entertainment whirlybird with more tricks up his feathers than Houdini. Spontaneous, outrageous, cool and capricious, he plays to the crowd with comedic routines honed through hundreds of appearances at ballparks and arenas around the world.

Additionally, the YMCA will be giving away 1,000 youth t-shirts to children, 12 and under. Shirts will be available in several different sizes, and the availability of specific sizes will be based on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sunday, June 24th (2:15): SunTrust Sunday! Fans are encouraged to bring canned food items to AT&T Field to put in the bed of the Lookouts’ Dodger Blue antique truck parked outside the stadium. On SunTrust Sundays, each fan that donates food items will receive a free general admission ticket for that Sunday’s game. Tickets will be distributed on a “per person” basis and are subject to availability. The canned food items will be donated to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.

Monday, June 25th (7:15): North Georgia Night! Several businesses and organizations from North Georgia will be on hand to help celebrate their community. Additionally, trivia on the region will be featured throughout the night, and a first pitch will be thrown by Fort Oglethorpe police officer Jeff Holcomb.

Also, kids eat free! Children, who are 12 or under, will receive a coupon for a free hot dog and coke!

Tickets for these games or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
