Funeral Services Are Thursday For Dalton Teen Who Drowned

Funeral services are Thursday for a 14-year-old Dalton youth who drowned during an outing to Carters Lake in Murray County.

Family members said Eber Ramirez Ventura, 14, of Clark Street, was told by his mother that he could not go swimming. He slipped away and was found underwater about a half hour later.

He was a student at Dalton Middle School.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. from the Chapel of Willis Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from noon until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton.
