Mildred G. Chapman, 97, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, June 20, 2012.

Mrs. Chapman was a native of South Pittsburg, but had spent most of her life in Chattanooga.  She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church, most of her life at Clifton Hills United Methodist, and most recently, Simpson’ United Methodist in Rossville.  Mildred retired from Sears Credit Central Northgate following many years of service. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvis Chapman;  brothers, Arthur, Roland, & Carl Garner; niece, Madelyn Garner Neill

She is survived by her great-nieces, Emily Bazzel of Atlanta, and Helen Haines of Altha, Fla.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 25, at 2 p.m. at Simpson United Methodist Church with Reverend Janice M. Keebler officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga Memorial Park.

Visitation for friends will be on Monday, June 25, from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour at Simpson United Methodist Church, 601 McFarland Ave., Rossville, Ga. 30741.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
