Charles Edward Bean, Sr. died on Thursday, June 20, 2012 at the age of 81.
He was born in Soddy Daisy to Charlie and Ersie Bean on October 7, 1930.
Charles obtained Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Middle Tennessee State University. He retired from Hamilton County Schools after serving 37 years as principal in several schools. He was a member of Red Bank Presbyterian church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim Bean.
Survivors include Clara, his wife of 61 years; sons, Charles E. (Renee) Bean Jr. and Gary Bean; daughter, Marsha (Lenny) Sernulka of Fort Mill, South Carolina; grandchildren Staci Sernulka, Columbia, South Carolina and Brian Sernulka, Atlanta; and a brother, Joe (Dorothy) Bean.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 22, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the North Chapel.
Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Reverend Everett Gossett officiating, and burial in Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.
