Peggy Jean Noel Morgan, 85, of Jasper, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, died on Wednesday, June 20, 2012.

Peggy was born in Marion County, and attended Marion County High School where she was a member of the girls high school basketball team. She belonged to the Marion County Athletic Hall of Fame. She was an avid golfer and encouraged every one of all ages to play. She was employed by Webb Auto for many years and then worked for Marion Trust until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Jasper where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school for over 32 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Beulah Piercy and Carter Noel, husband, Carl L. Morgan, Sr., and sisters, Margarite Thach and Madeline Parker.

She is survived by sons, Carl L. (Pam) Morgan, Jr., of Thomasville, Ga., Joe (Vikki) Morgan of Jasper; grandchildren, Paul (Christina) Morgan and Lindsay Morgan of Austin, Tx., Cade Morgan of Knoxville and Jake Morgan of Jasper; great-grandsons, Christopher and Zachery Morgan of Austin, Tx. She also had great friends whom she considered family.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 22, from 5-8 p.m. CST at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 23, at 11 a.m. CST at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Reverend David Grisham officiating. Interment will follow in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
