Miss Chattanooga Chandler Lawson will be presented with the coveted Miss America Organization State Community Service Award by MAO Board Chairman Sam Haskell at Friday night’s final round of preliminaries at the Miss Tennessee Pageant in Jackson.

Miss Lawson, Miss Mountain Lakes Madyson Foster and Miss Tennessee Valley Sarah-Taylor Argo were recognized for their community service endeavors during the Parents’ Luncheon earlier today.

Miss Foster received the Miss Tennessee State Community Service Award and Miss Argo was named the Tennessee Miracle Maker as the top fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network.  The three will each receive a $1,000 scholarship in addition to the awards that will be announced during tomorrow’s finals which will conclude with the crowning of Miss Tennessee 2012.

Miss Lawson was honored for being the founder of the 5 Loaves 4 Kids program in her hometown of Tullahoma which addresses childhood hunger by the preparation of weekend backpacks for students who would otherwise have little access to food.

Miss Foster of Cleveland was acknowledged for her volunteer efforts with The Chattanooga Ronald McDonald House which included numerous appearances throughout the area on behalf of the organization.  Miss Middle Tennessee Blue Raider Rebecca Lofty of Jasper was the second runner-up for the award.

Miss Argo was also the first runner-up for the Public Relations Award for the most ads sold.

The Pageant will be broadcast online at www.livestream.com/eplustv6  at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT. Misses Lawson and  Foster will be featured in the talent round and Miss Argo competes in swimsuit.   Area representatives have swept the swimsuit preliminaries with the victories by Miss Shelby County Hannah Disterdick of Chattanooga and Miss Scenic City Kyndall Covington of Memphis earlier in the week.
