Ralph Miller Is an Excellent Choice For The School Board - And Response

Monday, June 25, 2012

Mr. Ralph Miller was an excellent teacher and is an excellent choice for the School Board in District 7.

I had Mr. Miller as a teacher in elementary school and I believe that he has done a wonderful job helping younger generations and that he would be great for the School Board of the area.

Please elect Mr. Miller for School Board.

On Aug. 4, voters will be going to the polls to elect their choices for various local offices. There are many outstanding candidates that are qualified, but for this writer there is one that stands head and shoulders above the rest.  I say this because I know that he has the proper background, experience, enthusiasm, and integrity for such a position.

The position is School Board Member of District 7; the person is Mr. Ralph Miller.

I’ve known Mr. Miller a long time. I saw him in his growing- up years and becoming an outstanding student in high school and college after which he became a successful band director in the area. When the possibility of advancement arose, he was promoted to be a school administrator, first as an assistant –principal and later as principal. In all these varied roles, he excelled at hard work, enthusiasm for his profession, love for his students and teachers, and a strong belief in “leading by example.”

Even after he retired, he worked for a while with kindergarten and lower grade children teaching them music. I think this speaks “millions” for his love of education and his ability to be a strong school board member.

I will tell you “I wish I could vote for him, but I can not because I’m not in his district.” However, the people of District 7 can and I hope will cast their vote for Mr. Ralph Miller as their School Board member. It’s an opportunity of a lifetime.

Questionable Moc Coaching Choices - And Response

David Blackburn proved that he rolled an elder vice chancellor to hire Will Wade. I can't find one game Wade coached. Should we think he is a better coach than the Georgia coach that won the SEC? At least four jobs were open in and around Wade's hometown, Nashville. No one mentioned his name. While Blackburn was preaching in the Chattanoogan Room about the fairness of the ... Clowns - And Response (2)

Back in 1973 Stephen Sondheim wrote a song for a Broadway play he titled Send in The Clowns. It subsequently became popular fare for many artists including Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey and others, becoming a popular hit, twice, for '60's activist and protester Judy Collins. I first thought of it as just another boring, elevator music attempt by a former HippyChic to pump up her ... (click for more)

Chief Magistrate Russell Says Ables Should Have Waited To Sign Warrant For Teen Beer Bust

Officials in the Sheriff's Department said a warrant was not obtained early Saturday morning to go inside a house where over 20 allegedly beer-drinking teens were partying because a magistrate said he was about to get off duty and wouldn't wait over. Sgt. Robert Starnes said he was standing by a deputy who called Magistrate Larry Ables at 4:30 a.m. seeking the warrant ... (click for more)

Silverdale Debuts In Class A State Baseball Tourney With 5-1 Win

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Silverdale Baptist Academy Seahawks appeared in their first Class A state baseball tournament game Tuesday afternoon and played liked they had been here before. Senior Reid Clements effectively scattered five hits and struck out 12 as top-ranked Silverdale knocked of Rockwood, 5-1, in a first-round game played before a capacity crowd at Middle Tennessee ... Notre Dame Falls In State Soccer Tournament

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- After scoring a goal 15 minutes into Tuesday’s TSSAA Class A/AA soccer quarterfinal and holding that lead for the next 23 minutes, Notre Dame felt good about its chances of advancing to the state semifinals. Two plays from White House’s Luis Vital prevented the Irish from doing so. The sophomore scored the equalizer two minutes before halftime, and in ... (click for more)
