Monday, June 25, 2012

Chattanooga native and 22Visionz artist T-Ran Gilbert entered the music video charts for the first time this weekend in the number six position on the “TX10” countdown show on the national TBN network, JCTV. The “TX10” show, which features the top 10 most popular Hip Hop and Urban Praise videos in contemporary Christian music, also featured T-Ran’s interview with the host/rapper T-Bone, recorded at the TBN studios in California.

“My music is for the broken and lost,” said T-Ran.  “I wrote ‘Need You Now’ at a time when I was broken and needed to get my focus back on God.”

The “Need You Now” video is rotating on the Gospel Music Channel, JCTV and over 50 other media outlets. Thousands have watched the video on YouTube since it hit the TX10 chart.

T-Ran Gilbert has wrapped up a media tour on the West Coast and will return to California in July. Before heading back, he will perform on Friday at Freedom Worship Center in Soddy Daisy on their “Illuminate Prayer Night.”  He will then head to Ringgold on Saturday for the “LiveLOUD” Community Block Party at Hutcheson on the Parkway, where he will perform with rapper and Grammy nominee, Teron Carter (a.k.a. “Bonafide” from the rap group, GRITS).

David Ives has been a staple of student scene nights for years now. Not because his writing is in anyway simple, but because it’s short. Here is a playwright who packs a lot into a little. In fact, most of his plays are barely more than the length of SNL sketches, though much more consistently funny. Think early Woody Allen meets Christopher Durang and you begin to approach the ... Scandals At Home And Abroad

Since my hip operation and time in recovery, I have tried to set aside things that are insignificant to me and to average Americans. Don't get me wrong here. What these people are doing (Bengahzi) is despicable be they left or right wing, and they have been doing it (both sides) for a long time. But the dirty deeds themselves carry little weight as to what they mean to you or me. ... (click for more)
