The 2012 “Strike for Education” Rock n’ Bowl to benefit Junior Achievement of Chattanooga is on Aug. 18 and 19, at the Holiday Bowl on Brainerd Road.
Organizers said, "No bowling skill? That’s okay! Our tournament is designed to be fun for everyone - so gather your friends, family or co-workers and come on out."
Each member of teams of six will receive a “Strike for Education” event t-shirt to accompany their two games of bowling at the tournament.
Teams of up to six may register for $125, by visiting the website, www.jachatt.org or by contacting Renee Penney 423 892-4488.
Organizers said Strike for Education is one of Junior Achievement’s most successful fundraisers. It helps Junior Achievement bring volunteer-driven financial literacy programs to students throughout Hamilton, Catoosa, Marion and Walker Counties.
All proceeds from the event go to support Junior Achievement’s programs throughout the Chattanooga and North Georgia area. Currently, Junior Achievement programs are being taught in 59 schools and eight after-school partnerships, reaching over 9,300 students in Hamilton, Catoosa, Marion and Walker counties. While elementary and middle school programs each cost $500 and high school programs cost $650, they are provided to the schools at no cost due to the money raised by corporate gifts, foundation grants and special events such as “Strike for Education”. Junior Achievement is not a United Way agency.
