Erlanger At Hutcheson Unveils Remodeled Hospital Rooms

Tuesday, June 26, 2012

Officials with Erlanger at Hutcheson on Tuesday announced the completion of a hospital wing remodeling effort and the successful transition of patients from third floor rooms into the newly refurbished area on the second floor.  The remodeled area, which boasts contemporary colors and artwork, will be known as Med/Surg 2.

According to Roger Forgey, president and CEO of the hospital, the remodel accomplishes several objectives. He said, “This area on the second floor is more conveniently located near the ICU and operating rooms, and is easier for families to access when visiting patients.” Visitors can enter the updated hospital wing through the historic Post building, which served as the original Calvary hospital beginning in 1904. The remodeled rooms also overlook the recently re-landscaped interior hospital courtyards.

Mr. Forgey also said the remodel demonstrates an ongoing commitment to improve the hospital facility, and that relocating patients from the third floor allows for future remodeling and expansion efforts in that area.

Officials stated the total relocation process of transitioning patients into the updated wing took approximately four hours to complete and went smoothly without incident.

Funding for the remodel was made possible through a generous donation from the Erlanger at Hutcheson Auxiliary.
