Senator Andy Berke, candidate for mayor of Chattanooga, will hold a round table discussion with local entrepreneurs about the challenges and opportunities facing start-ups and small business owners on Thursday, at the Lamp Post Group on Market Street.
Senator Berke will speak with local business owners and entrepreneurs about how to grow and support local businesses.
“Small business is the engine that drives our economy. If we are going to grow as a city, we have to support local industry and entrepreneurs.”
Throughout his career in the State Senate, Senator Berke has taken steps to support and create small businesses. He sponsored the New Entrepreneur Tax Credit, a bill designed to help first-time business owners with tax relief. In addition, he helped to pass the Small Business Jobs Opportunity Fund of 2010, which works in combination with private investments to offer small business financial assistance to expand and create new jobs.
