Ledford, Waunetta K. (Ocoee)

Waunetta K. Ledford, 95, of Ocoee, Tn., died Monday, June 25, 2012. 

She was fondly known to family and friends as DeeDo. She was the oldest living member of Smyrna Baptist Church and a member of the Ocoee Chapter 420, Order of the Eastern Star. Waunetta enjoyed researching family history and was known for her family “books”. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Ledford; her parents, John and Ora Kinser; son-in-law, Larry Sells; brothers, Harle Kinser and J.L. Kinser; and sister, Ruby Dixson. 

She is survived by her daughters, Evelyn Shade and husband, Michael of Sarasota, Fla. and Manon Sells of Ocoee; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Patrick Kinser and wife, Estelle of Old Fort; sister, Frances Rush and husband, Bill of Ocoee; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 29, at Smyrna Baptist Church in Ocoee with Pastor Jimmy Parham officiating. Interment will follow Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery with her nephews, Darvin Dixon, Leon Dixson, Joe Kinser, Charles Kinser, Aaron Kinser and Theron Kinser serving as pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, June 28 at Grissom Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements. 

The family requests that memorials be made to the Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 209 Smyrna Rd, Ocoee, TN 37361. 


Williamson, Betty Faye (Copperhill)

Betty Faye Williamson, 54, of Copperhill, died on May 16, 2013.  She was born in Salisbury, N..,C and raised in Chattanooga. She worked at Animal Clinic East for 12 years and was a big animal lover. Man Stabbed To Death After Argument

A Chattanooga man was stabbed to death after an argument on Friday night.
