Soddy Daisy's Nunley Selected First-Team MaxPreps All American

Soddy-Daisy's Kelsey Nunley has been chosen first team on the MaxPreps High School Softball All-America team.

The Soddy-Daisy standout, who has signed with Kentucky, led the Lady Trojans to the Class AAA state championship recently. She has already been voted the Gatorade State Player of the Year.

Nunley finished the season with a 36-4 record and an ERA of  0.45. She had 401 strikeouts, 21 walks, 246 innings pitched, 26 shutouts and 11 no-hitters.

"I've had a lot of players nominated for big awards, but this is the first first-team All-American I've ever had,'' said Soddy-Daisy coach Clifford Kirk, who announced his retirement at the end of the season. "This is huge.''
