Federal Judge Sandy Mattice has set a hearing on a petition for a preliminary injunction halting prayer at meetings of the County Commission.
The hearing is set for July 26 at 9 a.m.
Judge Mattice said he will hear arguments from both sides at the hearing.
He also said he wants to hear argument on why individual members of the County Commission as well as County Attorney Rheubin Taylor should not be dismissed from the lawsuit, which also names Hamilton County Government.
The suit is brought by Tommy Coleman and Brandon Jones.
They initially asked for a ruling stopping the prayers, then later asked for the injunction to take effect prior to the final ruling.
