Nursing And Allied Health Information Sessions Offered In July

The Division of Nursing and Allied Health at Chattanooga State Community College will present a series of information sessions during the month of July for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare field. Topics of discussion will include the application process, admission requirements, selection process, curriculum details, licensing and credentialing examinations, career opportunities and more. All of the information sessions will be held in the Health Science Center on the main campus. 

Information sessions for the registered nursing program are scheduled for Tuesday, July 10, at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the first floor of the HSC in room 1083. Reservations are not required. Attendance is strongly encouraged, but not mandatory for admission into the program. 

The radiologic technology program will hold its information session on Thursday, July 12, in room 2060 on the second floor of the HSC at 3:30 p.m. Attendance at one information session is required for admittance to the radiologic technology program. A reservation is not necessary to attend.

Parkridge Health System Raises Over $4,700 For Tour de Cure

Parkridge Health System cyclists raised over $4,700 in support of the fight against diabetes for the 2013 Tour de Cure cycling event held at First Tennessee Pavilion.  Team Parkridge fielded riders at nearly every distance level of the event, including the 100 mile, 62 mile, and 25 mile routes. Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Erlanger Hospital by LifeForce helicopter about 3:15 a.m. The driver was transported by Hamilton County EMS. It is believed he had non-life threatening injuries. ... City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
