William “Bill” George Alford, 80, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, June 28, 2012.  

Bill worked for the City of Chattanooga in the office of Mayor Rudy Olgati and later retired from Piccadilly Cafeteria.  Bill served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William F and Alyce Smith Alford; and brother, David Alford.

Survivors include his sister, Betty A. (Pete) White of Chattanooga; brother, Nick (Martha) Alford of Signal Mountain; several nieces and nephews.

Private interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
