Baird Earns Spot In State Senior Match Play Final

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. – Signal Mountain’s Tom Baird won two matches Thursday and earned a spot in the final of the 2012 Tennessee Senior Match Play Championship at the Spring Creek Ranch here.

Baird will face Germantown’s Larry Dupree for the championship Friday morning.

In the Match Play Championship, UTC’s Steven Fox earned a spot in the semifinals on Friday against Collierville’s John Tyner.

Tim Jackson, a member of the Honors Course, will face Memphis’ Bailey Childress in the other semifinal.

The final will be Friday afternoon.

Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project
