Friday, June 29, 2012

I am writing in support of Bryan Hoss for Soddy-Daisy Judge.  I have known Bryan for over 10 years and have personally seen him work diligently for the clients he represents in municipal, General Sessions, state, and federal courts.

Bryan has the knowledge and common sense that are imperative to be a fair and effective judge. I am certain Bryan will hear and decide each case in front of him with the upmost integrity and care.

I have been a resident of the Soddy Daisy area for over 25 years and encourage all Soddy Daisy residents to cast their vote for Bryan Hoss on Aug.

Bryan Hoss is the best choice for Soddy Daisy Judge.  As a recent graduate from law school, I have not spent much time within the legal community of Chattanooga and Soddy Daisy. However, last summer I had the pleasure of working with Bryan at the firm of Davis & Hoss, P.C. Bryan’s overall demeanor and personality can be summed up in one word: passion. Passion amongst the legal profession is refreshing to see for a “new” lawyer. It is important for us, as beginners in the profession, to learn from an attorney who truly enjoys his career.

Bryan has shown a passion for the law. I have witnessed this passion whether it is in the courtroom, giving his clients a voice, or in the office, writing briefs or motions. I learned extremely valuable qualities from Bryan during my summer employment.

Bryan’s passion for the law causes him to be meticulous. He is meticulous in his arguments and in his writing. He is careful in his application of the law, and examines every side of every argument. This is a characteristic you would want in a Judge. A Judge should be careful in his decisions. He should examine every side of every argument before making a decision.

Bryan is also fair. He is fair to his employees, to his clients, and to his colleagues. He is fair in his arguments, while still performing as a zealous advocate for his clients. It should come as no surprise that a requirement for a good Judge is to be fair and just. I have no doubt that Bryan will be fair to the citizens of Soddy Daisy.

Bryan’s passion for the law makes him determined to seek justice. His determination in the courtroom will greatly serve the citizens of Soddy Daisy, and voters should find comfort in knowing that Bryan is dedicated to them and dedicated to the law.

I strongly encourage the voters of Soddy Daisy to vote for Bryan Hoss for Soddy Daisy judge.

Bryan Hoss would be a great judge for Soddy Daisy. I’ve known Bryan most of my life. We attended the McCallie School together, played sports together, have gone on fishing and camping trips together, and now our daughters are friends and classmates.

From all my years of being friends with Bryan, I know him to be a man of honor and integrity. He has a great knowledge of the law and is passionate about justice being served. Over the years, I have heard him discuss cases he was involved with and cases in the news. Through these discussions, Bryan has made clear his faith in the American legal system providing everyone with the right to a fair trial and a presumption of innocence. Bryan has the intelligence, demeanor, and determination to serve Soddy-Daisy with excellence.

My family and I will be joining Bryan on the 4th of July for the holiday festivities in Soddy Daisy. I hope you will come out and meet Bryan for yourself that day. I also hope you will vote for him for Soddy Daisy judge on Aug. 2nd.

Roy Exum: So How Am I Really Doing?

I’ve gotten hundreds of jokes since Tuesday when I wrote about feeling a little puny lately and expressing my belief that laughter is the best medicine. After breaking some bones in my arm as I slept last week and having no idea there were already some other fractures, it looked pretty certain I had a case of “The Big C.” I’ve always felt that stands for “courage” but the medical ...
