Bray, James, Lathers Will Represent Vols At SEC Media Days

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Vols quarterback Tyler Bray, linebacker Herman Lathers and offensive lineman Ja'Wuan James along with head coach Derek Dooley will be Tennessee's representatives at the 2012 SEC Football Media Days In Hoover, Ala.
, on July 19.

Three student-athletes and the head coach of each of the 14 Southeastern Conference football programs will participate in SEC Football Media Days, July 17-19, at the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, Ala.

On Tuesday, July 17, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Missouri and Vanderbilt will be on the schedule, followed by Florida, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Kentucky, Auburn and LSU on Wednesday, July 18, and Alabama, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Georgia on Thursday, July 19.

Bray enters his junior year as one of the top passers in the SEC. He opened 2011 on a record-setting pace with 1,328 yards in his first four games before suffering a broken thumb in the fifth game vs. Georgia. The Kingsburg, California native finished the year with 1,849 passing yards and 18 touchdowns. Bray ranks seventh on career touchdown passes list with 35 TD pass. He stands ninth in career passing yards with 3,832 heading into 2012 and 10th in career completions (272) heading to 2012.

James will also be a junior in 2012. The Suwanee, Georgia native has started the last 25 games in row for Tennessee at right tackle. James started all 12 games last season as Tennessee piled up more than 500 yards of offense on two occasions and more than 100 rushing yards seven times. James was a member of the 2010 Coaches All-SEC Freshman Team, starting all 13 games that season.

Lathers returns to action for his senior year after missing all of 2011 with a fractured ankle. Lathers started 12 games in 2010 and piled up 75 tackles with 4.5 tackles for loss. He led UT in tackles three times including 10-tackle performances vs. Vanderbilt and LSU. A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Lathers was a 2010 and 2009 SEC Academic All-SEC selection and a member of the 2009 Freshman All-SEC team.
