Chattanooga Pitchers Have Yielded Just Two Runs In Last Four Games

PEARL, MS- After an eight-inning pitcher's duel, Brahiam Maldonado launched a solo home run into the Braves bullpen to lead the Chattanooga Lookouts to their second consecutive 1-0 victory in front of 4,192 fans Friday night at Trustmark Park.

Chattanooga pitching has dominated the series thus far with Lookouts' pitchers holding the M-Braves to just two runs in four games.

Red Patterson (4-1) picked up the win, striking out one in his only inning of work. Steven Ames (S, 7) came on in the ninth to close the game. He struck out two en route to his seventh save of the season. Chris Withrow threw two scoreless innings in relief.

Brent Leach (0-2) worked the final two frames and surrendered the decisive ninth-inning home run. 

The Lookouts (6-3) and the M-Braves (2-7) each had six hits on the night. Joe Leonard led the Braves' offense with two hits while Maldonado and Nick Buss each had two hits for Chattanooga. 

Neither starting pitcher factored in the decision. Matt Magill worked five innings for the Lookouts. He limited the M-Braves to six hits and two walks while fanning four batters. David Hale held Chattanooga to four hits and three walks. He struck out four batters.

Lefty Sean Gilmartin (5-6, 3.48) toes the rubber in Saturday night's series finale. He'll counter Lookouts' left-hander Aaron Miller (4-4, 4.21). First pitch is set for 7:00 p,m. ET. 

The Lookouts return home Sunday to open a three-game set against the Tennessee Smokies. Game time is 6:15 p.m.
