Bowman, Kenneth Lebron (Trion)

Kenneth Lebron Bowman, 75, Trion, Ga., died June 29, 2012, at his home following a lengthy battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

He was born September 27, 1936, in Trion, son of the late Fred B. Bowman and Emma Lee Grogan Bowman. He was a graduate of the 1955 Trion High School and attended the University of Georgia. He served two years in the U.S. Army in the continental United States and Soule, Korea. He graduated with a business accounting degree from Greenleaf Business College in 1961 in Atlanta. He worked in the garment business for 22 years in management, setting up and running distribution centers, returning to Trion in 1993, working in sales of furniture and mobile homes until retirement age. He was an active member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Trion Highway, LaFayette.

He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Crow Lancaster, a brother, Joe (Betty) Bowman of Fort Payne, AL, step-son, Chris (Amy) Lancaster, McGregor, Texas and three step-granddaughters, Kaila, Klemson, and Haley, all of Texas, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday July 2, 2012, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tracy Bass and Rev. Jennifer Bates officiating. Interment in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, LaFayette.

Active pallbearers will be Frank Bomar, Frank Buchanan, Roy Huston, Troy Keith, Greg Harris, Sean Osowski. Honorary pallbearers will be Vinson Carver, Joe Langston, Tim Smith, Wallace Thomas, members of Wesley Chapel UMC, and the Heyman Hospice Care Team.

 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wesley Chapel UMC, 6655 Trion Hwy, LaFayette, GA 30728.

Mr. Bowman will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Monday from 1 p.m. until the service hour.


Blackmon, Mary J. (Trion)

Mary J. Blackmon, 68, of Trion, GA, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013, at her residence.  Born in Chattooga County, GA on January 21, 1944, she was a daughter of the late James Randolph and Mozelle Love Moon.
