Charles “Charlie” A. Sammons, 62, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, June 27, 2012.
He was the son of the late Leo and Frances Sammons.
Charlie grew up in Florida where he graduated from Pensacola High School. He was an avid hiker, camper and amateur photographer.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was currently employed, as a finance manager, with Citizens Savings and Loans in Cleveland.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Deborah Sammons, of Pensacola, Fla., sister and brother-in-law, Benda and Jeff Colvin, of Milton, Fla., best friend, Darlene Ray, of Ooltewah, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 9, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5–8 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, at the funeral home.
