Participants in one of the fastest growing sports programs in America will join in a friendly competition on Saturday, at 9 a.m., with 25-year-old CrossFit Hixson member, Adam Duggan, to benefit Memphis-based St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Mr. Duggan is a survivor of neuroblastoma, a cancerous tumor that develops in nerve tissue. CrossFit athletes will work out with Mr. Duggan on Saturday in a celebration of his health and to raise money to fight pediatric cancer as part of a nationwide CrossFit for Hope event.
CrossFit Hixson is located in the back of Sports Barn North, 1790 Hamill Road.
CrossFit gyms nationwide are joining forces to raise $1.7 million – one day's operating cost for St. Jude – to combat childhood cancer and other deadly diseases. The CrossFit for Hope competition has special meaning for CrossFit Hixson athletes because they are simultaneously celebrating Adam’s 23-year remission.
