Kenneth Walsh, 84, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on Friday, June 8, 2012 in  a local hospital.


He was born on Jan. 23, 1926.

While there are many measures by which to judge one’s life, none seems more timely than the measure by which one has both loved and been loved. By this measure, the golden years of Ken’s life have been lovingly warm and spiritually rich.

Ken was born to James and Louise (Hechler) Walsh in Tenafly, N.J. 

He is survived by a son, Dr. Stephen J. Walsh and his wife Maureen, grandson, Matthew, granddaughter, Beth, daughter, Susan, nieces Pam Leavy and Lynn Lefebrve, and his long-time friend Melba Sylvie; he is preceded in death by a son, Fr. Kenneth W. Walsh, and his brothers James and Wilbur.

Ken was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Force. He received a Bachelor of Administrative Engineering from the NYU College of Engineering and a Master of Science from the University of Tennessee.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 11, from 5-7 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home at 7454 East Brainerd Road in Chattanooga. 

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
