Funeral services will be Wednesday for a 74-year-old Soddy Daisy woman who was killed by a wrong-way driver traveling at a high rate of speed on Shallowford Road on Saturday afternoon.
Myra Eaker, a native of Scottsboro, Ala., formerly was a McDonald's restaurant manager.
At 2:30 p.m., Chattanooga Police officers responded to 6500 Shallowford on a traffic accident involving multiple vehicles. The Chattanooga Police Traffic Division was called to the scene to lead the investigation.
Witnesses stated that a Nissan Titan driven by Roman York, 33, was traveling westbound on Shallowford Road in the eastbound lane. The Nissan Titan clipped one eastbound vehicle and then struck a Buick driven by Ms. Eaker headed eastbound head-on.
Ms. Eaker was pronounced dead on the scene.
All others who were injured were transported for non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation is continuing and criminal charges may be filed against the driver of the Nissan pending blood test results.
The location is at Edgmon Forest Lane between Standifer Gap Road and Janeview Drive.
The service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Daisy United Methodist Church with the Reverend Don Jones officiating.
Her family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Williamson Funeral Home.
