All Candidates Rally And Fish Fry Is Saturday

The Harrison Ruritan Club will be serving fish dinners from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, at an All Candidates Rally. Candidates' speeches will begin at 6 p.m. 

The event will take place in the club building at 5709 Tyner Lane, next to Harrison Elementary. 

Forty-five candidates appearing on the Aug. 2, ballot have been invited including U.S. Senate, Congress 3rd District, State Senate, State House, Hamilton County Mayor, Sessions Court Judge,Assessor of Property, County Commission Dist. 3, and School Board Districts 1, 2, 4 & 7 candidates.

The rally is free. Tickets for the dinner will be $8 at the door. The fish dinner will consist of fish fillet, French fries, slaw, hush puppies, drink, and dessert. In 2010 30 candidates and 300 people were in attendance.

The Harrison Ruritan Club will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in September. It now has140 members from 12 towns surrounding Harrison. Proceeds will benefit the club’s community service projects.

Woman Found Dead On Lovell Road; Police Looking For Terry Releford

A woman was found dead on Sunday morning at 8912 Lovell Road, and police are seeking a "person of interest" in the case. Deputies responded to that location at approximately 8 a.m. on a suspicious death. On arrival "deputies found a dead female in her 30s deceased from an apparent homicide."
