Joe Billy Therber, Sr., 87, of Cohutta, Ga., passed away Monday, July 9, 2012 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Atlanta.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ferol Therber; daughter Marcia Cook; and three sons, Paul, Jimmy, and Alan Therber.

Mr. Therber is survived by six daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Frank Pospichel, Connie and Bill Browning all of Byron, GA, Sandra Stanley of Dalton, Jackie Pettyjohn of Byron, Joyce and Darrel Bible of Cohutta, Penny and Gene Rymer of Tunnel Hill; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Fran Therber of Cocoa, Fla., Billy and Sharon Therber, Ken an Myra Therber all of Ringgold; special daughter-in-law Chris Therber of Rockledge, Fla.; 29 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday, July 12, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples with Rev. Tim Kelly and Rev. Clayton Brown officiating. Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6-9 p.m.

Julian Peeples Funeral Home, Pleasant Grove Chapel, Dalton is in charge of funeral arrangements.
