Hortense Amelia Graham Colvard, 90, of Pikeville passed away on Monday July 9, 2012.

She was a member of the Pikeville Church of God for over 60 years. She was a dedicated homemaker and cherished her time spent with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She served as Bledsoe County clerk and master of the Chancery Court from 1946-1981.

Graham was preceded in death by her husband, Landon Colvard, Sr., granddaughter, Amanda Colvard-Richards, parents, Lyle and Agnes Forbes, and a daughter, Dolly Agnes Colvard.

She is survived and will be missed by her sons, Landon “Laney” (Charlotte) Colvard, Jr., Crossville, Tn., Thad Ronald “Ronnie” (Carol) Colvard, Daniel Graham “Dan” (Sue) Colvard, daughter, Rebecca Ann (Greg) Forgey, all of Pikeville; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Muriel Knowles, of Greenville, Maine, several nieces and nephews and many close friends.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held in the Pikeville Church of God on Thursday July 12, at 1 p.m. CST with her sons, Laney and Ronnie Colvard officiating.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Pikeville Funeral Home and at 12 on Thursday at the Pikeville Church of God.. Burial will be in the Pikeville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Graham’s honor to the Pikeville Church of God Building Fund.
