David Duncan Thayer, 62 Rock Spring, Georgia, died on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in a local hospital.
He was a native of Fort Arthur, Texas, and had lived in Mississippi before moving to the North Georgia area 15 years ago.
Dave was retired from Colonial Pipe Line, and worked part time at the Walmart in Fort Oglethorpe. He was a member of the Ringgold United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Seekers Class.
Mr. Thayer was preceded in death by his father, Jack Calvin Thayer.
Survivors include his loving wife Happt Thayer, daughters Annett ( Chris ) Northrop of Sharpsburg, GA, Dawn Thayer of Newnan, GA and Kelly ( Blake ) Edwards of Pasadena Maryland.mother Kathleen Thayer of Cartersville, GA, brother Jay Thayer of Labanon, TN, sisters Reanell Passons of Cartersville, GA and Mary Kay Thayer of Louisiana; and three grandchildren, Ashton and Joh Mitchell Northrop and Kathryn Edwards.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend John Purrington officiating. Interment in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
