The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday arrested two individuals in Grundy County who were indicted by the Grundy County grand jury earlier this week on charges for separate incidents.
Richard Fults, 33, of Stagecoach Road, Altamonte, Tn., was indicted on two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of attempted second degree murder and one count of resisting arrest. Fults was shot by a Grundy County Sheriff’s Office deputy on June 12, after Fults came after two deputies with a knife. Deputies were attempting to serve a warrant on Fults at his residence when the shooting occurred. He has been in the Grundy County Jail on unrelated charges and was served with the additional charges in the jail Wednesday. TBI investigated the officer involved shooting at the request of the 12th District Attorney General.
Wayne Charles Green, 26, of Tram Road in Tracy City, Tn. was arrested at his home Wednesday night after he was indicted on one count of theft over $60,000 for stealing funds from his former employer. Green worked as a bookkeeper for Basham Industries when the theft occurred. TBI investigated the case at the request of the 12th District Attorney General.
Fults and Green are both in the Grundy County Jail without bond. They are scheduled to have bonds set on July 20.
