David Mays, longtime finance director and city manager for East Ridge, died Thursday at the age of 68.
He had been honored by the city upon his retirement with the naming of the David Mays Parkway at City Hall.
He was a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Boren Mays; three sons, Jody (Wanda) Mays of Ooltewah, Jon (Kristin) Mays of Chattanooga and Ken (Betsy) Mays of Maryville, TN; three grandchildren, Julie Mays, Alex Mays and Erin Mays; one brother, Donald (Sue) Mays of Dunlap, TN; and sister, Martha Watts of Ringgold.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church with the Reverend Mike Steele officiating. Entombment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. on Friday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road and from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church, 4131 Ringgold Road, East Ridge.
